Summary
Red leather cylindrical quiver. Impressed/embosed with a hatched pattern. The stitching in white cotton or linen. Hyderabad, India, late 18th century. Possibly given in 1804 to Edward Clive (1754-1839) by George Gilbert Keble, who was Secretary to the Government in Madras.
Provenance
Collected by Edward Clive (1754-1839). A letter from G.G. Keele to Lord Powis dated 1804 '...to convey to your L/ship a Bow & Quiver of Arrows from Hyperbad...' Purchased by the National Trust with funding from The National Heritage Memorial Fund from John George Herbert, 8th Earl of Powis and Powis Estate Trustees in August 1999.
