Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Hon. Berkeley Paget, MP (1780-1842) by Sir Thomas Lawrence, PRA (Bristol 1769 – London 1830), circa 1807. A half-length portrait of Berkeley Paget, sixth son of the 1st Earl of Uxbridge who held the rank of major in the 7th Hussars, and brother of ther first Marquess of Anglesey, looking to left, wearing a dark fur collared coat. It is a copy after the orginal, exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1807(17), without the detail of the Hussars braiding.
Provenance
By family descent to the 7th Marquess of Anglesey, by whom Plas Newydd and many of its contents were given to the National Trust in 1976
