Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Henry Bayly, 9th Baron Paget of Beaudesart, 1st Earl of Uxbridge (1744 - 1812) by George Romney (Dalton-in-Furness 1734 – Kendal 1802), circa 1785. A three-quarter length portrait, wearing a dark coat and breeches, seated holding in his left hand, according to Steegman, a sample of copper ore from the mines at Parys Mountain, near Amlweh, where he founded the Mona Mine Co. in 1785. It is, however, silver rather than copper-coloured, and has the shape of a snuff-box. Three-quarter length, seated to left in a red armchair, wearing a black suit.
