Oil painting on canvas, Admiral The Hon. Edward Boscawen (1711-1761), from the Studio of Sir Joshua Reynolds PRA (Plympton 1723 - London 1792). Full-length portrait. Boscawen was the builder of Hatchlands and hero of Finistere. He sat for this portrait in 1755, so this could be the original, thought to be in the sitter's family, that was used for HAT/P/15 in the Drawing Room.
