Oil painting on canvas, Sir Barnard Turner (1736-84) by Francis Wheatley, RA (London 1747 – London 1801), signed and dated bottom right: Fr. Wheatley pinxit [it?]....1783. A full- length portrait, of an ancestor of Louisa Yorke (nee Scott), the second wife of Philip Yorke II, and the mother of Simon IV and Philip III, in a landscape, in military uniform, a sword in his outstretched right arm and a cannon draped with a flag behind to his left.

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905 – 1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973
