Summary
A joined oak coffer, North Wales, late 17th/early 18th century. The two-plank top with moulded edge and an underbearer at either end; the front of three fielded panels within channel-moulded rails and muntins. Fitted to the interior with a deep till. The ends panelled, the supports extended stiles, and with applied base rail moulding. -- There are several coffers of this type at Erddig, which may well have been locally made. A very near pair to this coffer is in the Basement Passage [NT 1147085].

Given by Phillip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
