Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Swan and other Dead Birds with Sporting Dogs in a Landscape by Jan Fyt (Antwerp 1611 – Antwerp 1661). Fyt was a pupil of Snyders, whose specialities of paintings of live and dead game he made his own.
Provenance
Probably bought by Sir Nathaniel Curzon from Sir John Barnard in 1751; recorded at Kedleston in 1769; and thence by descent until bought with part of the contents of Kedleston with the aid of the National Heritage Memorial Fund in 1987 when the house and park were given to the National Trust by Francis Curzon, 3rd Viscount Scarsdale (1924-2000)
