Summary
A mahogany four-poster bed, English, late 18th century.
Provenance
Possibly the bed erected in the Inlaid Chamber (then the Tapestry Room) after the removal of its paneling and bed to the South Kensington Museum in 1891, and photographed in Country Life in 1906, and again in 1936. Given to the National Trust by Henry Hornyold Strickland (1890 – 1975) with Sizergh Castle and its estates in 1950.
