Summary
An oak kneehole desk, English, circa 1740 and later. The hinged fall enclosing a pair of pigeonholes; the desk with a long central drawer flanked by two short drawers which also serve as lopers to support the top, above two banks of three graduated short drawers, with half-round bead mouldings applied to the carcass, the kneehole with a recessed cupboard door. With later bun feet and later gilt brass lock plates incorporating royal emblems of a crown, a lion and a unicorn.
