Summary
An oak high-backed side chair, Lancashire/Cheshire, circa 1690, the toprail cusp-carved (possibly with losses either side of the central projection) and above a fielded panel, between pyramid finial-topped uprights, the seat boarded and raised on spreading columnar and block-turned front legs joined by a double baluster-turned mid-stretcher, on pear feet.
Provenance
Given by Henry Hornyold Strickland (1890 – 1975) with Sizergh Castle and its estates in 1950.
