Summary
An oak backstool, South Lancahire/North Cheshire, circa 1680, having a back-panel carved with a stylized leaf-filled lozenge between gauge-carved whorls, with moulded and cusped toprail, the uprights topped by typical pyramid finials, the single-piece boarded seat raised on block and bobbin-turned legs united by a bobbin-turned front stretcher, on pear feet.
