Summary
Black breastplate of peascod form, plain 'Pisean' type, late C16th; a light-weight piece; roped edging at the collar; sunken border at the top ends in two raised whorls (visible on reverse); single-plate waist-piece attached at two points by rivets which also attach two or four leather straps for tassets; sunken border between legs; there is a repair inside at the left edge; the waist piece has a pair of rivets at each side which do not attach to the breast plate, the two parts may not belong; painted black.
