Summary
A beech upholstered stool, by Miles and Edwards, London, circa 1840. The overstuffed seat raised on square section tapered legs with graduating ring collars. Stamped ‘Miles and Edwards, 134 Oxford St.’ Miles and Edwards (furniture printers, upholders and cabinet makers) traded from this address between 1822–44.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust with the family collection of Lacock Abbey contents in situ from Mrs. Petronella Burnett-Brown in December 2009.
