Summary
Lady's jacket of brocaded silk with silver lace trimming, the double sleeve ruffles lined in pink silk. Lined in linen, the lining pieces following the outside cut of the jacket. Pale blue linen tapes sewn at lower centre back and on right hand side at lower waistline. Two bag pockets at centre front with their flaps backed with white linen. The side skirts are topped by a button and the fullness over the hips is pleated and stitched together. The top three buttons have been moved to make the bodice smaller at the bustline. The lowest buttonhole has been partly sewn up to accommodate the present position, suggesting that the stomacher has been sewn in place subsequently. Buttonholes seem extremely large for size of button.
