Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Colonel John Palmer Chichester (1769-1823) attributed to Philip Jean (St Ouen, Jersey 1755 – Hempstead, Kent 1802). Oval. c.1790. Head-and-shoulders portrait, turned slightly to the right, gazing at the spectator, in a red coat with white and gold collar, and a full lacy cravat.Light brown eyes, powdered hair in queue, aged about 20. Plain buff background lit from top left. Formerly ARL/P/49.
