Summary
Sampler with embroidered fringe border. All embroidered letters are in wool on a rough woven woolen cloth. The bottom has an embroidered inscription of the maker, Fanny Wrather, aged 10 years, July 1776. The top line reads May the 1 1776, followed by different letters of the alphabet in diriment fonts, and typefaces. At the bottom there is a heraldic emblem of a lion passant and a tree with a crown and a bird. On the right hand bottom corner is a heart with a crown above it and the date July 1776. Modern frame.
