Summary
Eight day chiming table clock in ebonised case, by Jump, London, c.1910. Substantial, six pillar fusee movement with half dead-beat escapement and rack-controlled hour-striking on a large steel gong and chiming on eight bells. Signed on the back plate below the pendulum holdfast: “Jump LONDON”. Stamped under the gong block: “G.B”. Brass break-arch dial with winged cherub spandrels and subsidiary dials marked: “Strike/Silent”, and “Full Chimes / Change” in the arch with engraved scrolling between and an applied silvered-brass plaque marked: “Jump 55 Pall Mall LONDON”. The silvered brass chapter ring has roman numerals and arabic five-minute figures, and fleur de lis half hour markers. The plain brass dial centre is matted. Pierced blued steel hands Ebonised fruitwood triple pad top, break-arch case with silk lined frets to the pads, sides and back door. Brass quadrant lining to the pads and the front door. Brass carrying handle to top and brass bracket feet.
