Summary
One of a pair of vases, tin-glazed earthenware (faience), after an Islamic glass shape (the knopped neck designed to prevent slippage) laquered over relief gesso with panels of birds, landscapes and dignitaries, mark of an Artemesia leaf in underglaze blue (used on Chinese Kangxi period porcelain), possibly Berlin, Germany, c. 1840.
