Summary
Oil painting on panel, King Henry VII (1457–1509), English School, 16th century. A small half-length portrait of a man, wearing a crimson robe, holding a red rose, and wearing a black hat with jewel.
Provenance
Acquired by Charles Winn from the dealer, Mr Oxley of Pontefract, through his cousin, Arthur Strickland, in January 1830; the dealer, S. Jennings (of Poland St, London), in his letter of 24 September 1830, mentions £5 5s. as the price of “Two Portraits of Henry 7th and Eliz of York; purchased by the National Trust by private treaty sale from Lord St Oswald in 2010
