Summary
A mahogany and mahogany-veneered fold-over tea table, English, mid-18th century. With projecting rounded front corners, the hinged fold-over top above a front frieze centred by a carved scallop shell between foliate scrolls. The front legs cabriole and carved with shells to the knee and with foliate-scroll ears, terminating in talon and ball-carved feet. The rear legs of club form and with pad feet; one rear leg hinged to support the top when open.
