Summary
Group portrait photograph in half-tone of the passengers aboard the S.Y. "Argonaut" 122nd cruise; numbered: A.86328; photography: Fradelle & Young, London. Photograph depicts passengers on a Mediterranean cruise of the Hellenic Travellers Club, April, 1906, around the islands and mainland of Greece. The passengers included William, 9th Earl of Stamford, and various schoolmasters and interested Classicists. A manuscript numbered list of certain passengers is on the reverse: no. 1 is "Myself" identified by another hand as C.E. Lemprière, and no.2 is Lord Stamford. Photograph accompanied by the stiff cardboard tube container in which it was stored, causing curling and some creasing.
