Summary
Large deal bed foot rail with shaped underside and two bolts at each end. There is a rectangular cut-out in the centre of the inside edge of the rail in to which would probably have been inserted a wooden central strengthening beam to support the underside of the mattress support, whether canvas or slats. The ends are incised 'VII' and 'VIII'.
