Summary
Head end of a four-poster bedstead with: (a) two heavy, oak, octagonal, tapering head posts with a square section at the point at which the head board and end/side rails are attached to the posts. Each post also has a metal spike at the top and square metal hook on which to hook curtain rods, and single bolt holes to receive end/side rails with one bolt at each end; (b) plain oak end rail with bolt holes through the sides and with canvas mattress support, DUN/T/1699, attached: narrow length of canvas with brown and cream stripes running through and rope holes along the sides and end; (c) rectangular pine headboard made up of two planks joined together and screwed/nailed to the back of the posts.
