Summary
Head end of a four-poster bedstead with: (a) two square, tapering, oak head posts, each with cut-out section into which a headboard would be fitted (not present) and with two hinged wood stays on each post to keep the headboard in place (missing from the right hand post). The posts have bolt holes to receive end/side rails with a single bolt at each end; (b) plain oak end rail with rebated inside end to which canvas, DUN/T/1697, is tacked; DUN/T/1697 is a long canvas mattress support with blue stripes running through it and with rope holes along the side edges and loose end.
