Summary
One of two square, tapering red-stained pine head posts, each with shaped wood bracket at the top, metal castor ([a] has castor bracket only; the wheel is missing), and bolt holes to receive end/side rails with one bolt at each end. There are tack marks down at least the inside edge and a short additional fillet for retaining the headboard.
