Summary
Silver cream ewer by David Willaume, 1743/44. 'The stepped circular foot is cast; the helmet-shaped bowl is raised and has an applied rim. The double scroll leaf-capped handle is cast. The front is engraved with a monogram GW surmounted by an earl's coronet' (Lomax and Rothwell, 'Country House Silver from Dunham Massey', 2006, pp.93).
Provenance
Previously on loan to the National Trust by the Rt Hon. Lord Deramore, and became the property of the National Trust after his death in 2006. Accepted by HM Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust for display at Dunham Massey, 2008.
