Summary
Damask linen towel. Fabric, undyed bleached linen damask; design, mirror image scenes between double borders of scrolling stems and chequered pattern two sides. Scene from top, the words 'DAVID' and 'URIAS' above two seated figures within arcading, the word 'RABBA' above soldiers, cannon and walled city; at bottom 'JOAB'; structure, two selvages, handsewn rolled hems two ends. 'S E ? 1637' embroidered in white linen.
