Summary
Blue damask. Fabric, blue silk weft of heavier count, motifs unbalanced plain weave, ground warp faced satin, damask, selvages, green, gold, green, gold and green stripes; design, repeat not complete (see.3), two widths show part of the rose design, centre width shows sunburst with sacred monogram 'I H S' (as made up the right side shows initials in reverse); structure, hand sewn, cut four sides, braid one side, almost three complete widths (the dye has changed to a shade of green/blue where exposed to light).
