Summary
One of a pair of George II silver gilt salvers, each of shaped circular form and on three scroll feet, with waved up-curved borders, the centre engraved with the arms of Booth impaling Oldbury for George, 2nd Earl of Warrington, in elaborate baroque cartouche within brickwork, mask and floral swag surround, by Peter Archambo, 1730.
Provenance
Collection Catherine, Lady Grey and Sir John Foley Grey, Bart., Christie's 20th April, 1921. Lot 66. Accepted by HM Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust for display at Dunham Massey, 2008.
