Summary
One of two heavy wood side rails, each with shaped underside, slat inserts along one side and two wooden castors on black-painted metal legs, (.i) with ‘III’ incised at one end and ‘IIIV’ at the other end, (.ii) with ‘IIII’ incised at one end and ‘VII’ at the other end; part of a William IV mahogany tester bedstead.

Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
