Summary
One of two red-stained wood end rails, each with rebated edge to which a canvas would have been tacked (canvas missing), (.i) plain head end rail with ‘III’ incised on the right hand end, (.ii) foot end rail with shaped underside, two bolt holes at each end and ‘III’ incised on one end and ‘IIII’ at the other end; part of a William IV mahogany tester bedstead.

Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
