Summary

Watercolour on paper, View of the Temple of Minerva Medica, Rome by Louis Ducros (Yverdon, Switzerland 1748 – Lausanne 1810). Painted at Rome in 1788 for the 6th Earl of Stamford.

Provenance

This and the other Ducros watercolours (DUN/D/11 and D/10) were purchased by Lord Grey (later 6th Earl of Stamford), whose tutor at Rome was Pidou, a compatriot and friend of Ducros. Ducros' bill for the drawings survives at Enville.
