Provenance
painted for the 6th Earl of Stamford. Ducros' bill for the drawings survives at Enville. This and the other Ducros watercolours (DUN/D/11 and D/12) were purchased by Lord Grey (later 6th Earl of Stamford), whose tutor at Rome was Pidou, a compatriot and friend of Ducros.
