Summary
One of five food warming china plates with metal container bases for hot water: (a) plain white and marked 'COPPER / MADE IN ENGLAND'; (b) with blue/grey cornflower(?) transfer print; (c) as 'a' but cracked; (d) small, plain white dish, cracked, marked REGISTERED TRADEMARK / COPPER; (e) with one wide and two narrow dark red bands, cracked and very rusty around the sides, no maker's mark.
Provenance
Stamford collection; devised to the National Trust by Roger Grey, 10th Earl of Stamford (1896-1976).
