Summary
A mahogany chair, one of a set of fourteen, English, late 18th century. Having a moulded shield-shaped back and a pierced vertical splat with central collar. The broad and bowed seat upholstered in later plush, and raised on a pair of tapering square-section and moulded front legs, and outswept rear legs, joined by an 'H'-shaped stretcher.
Provenance
Part of the Hyde Parker collection. Accepted in Lieu in 1960 by the Treasury. Transferred to National Trust ownership in 2002.
