Summary
Portrait miniature, watercolour on ivory, Lydia Elizabeth Hoare, Lady Acland (1786-1856), attributed to George Sanders (1774-1846), c.1808. Portrait of a young woman, half-length, turned to the left, gazing at spectator weating a lilac overdress with full sleeves and scalloped neck, over a light brown tunic and white slip; pink ribbon and brooch at her breast, and a brown stole over her right shoulder. Blue eyes, red hair swept up and dressed with pearls. Plain brown background.'About 1808 / Lady Acland' and on blue backing paper in black ink 'Lady Acland / about 1808'.
