Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Sir Richard Thomas Dyke Acland 11th/15th Baronet Acland of Columb-John MP (1906-1990) by Bernard Dunstan (b. Middlesex 1920). A portrait of Sir Richard Acland as an elderly man, half-length, seated, in three-quarter profile turned towards the left, writing at a desk a pen in his right hand, many papers on the desk together with a typewriter. He has short grey hair, and is wearing spectacles. He has on a brown cardigan/coat, white shirt and reddish/brown tie. Behind him is a low bookcase above which are the portraits of Sir Thomas Dyke Acland, 11th Bt (1809-1898) and his wife Mary Erskine, 1883. This is a duplicate, painted in 1977, commissioned by the National Trust.
