Summary
A black and white photograph of the four-masted barque," Queen Margaret", wrecked near the Lizard, Cornwall, 5 May 1913. Steel hulled, the barque was designed and built by Macmillian of Dumbarton, Scotland in 1893 for John Black & Co. Photograph taken from the shore with the vessel very low in the water, the sails in tatters. Contained in a brown photograph album containing sixty three black and white photographs, nearly all labelled, of Cornish wrecks 1890 - 1935.
Provenance
A gift of Miss R.M. Phillips, Penzance, who also gave other nautical memorabilia to the National Trust.
