Summary
Postcard picture of crowds in main square in Bodmin, looking towards Shire Hall. There is a large banner above the buildings with flags hanging from windows. Banner reads 'The County Town welcomes its Duke and Duchess. Three cars at the bottom of the steps with a welcome committee on the steps beyond (possibly Viscountess Clilfden in the centre). Group of school children, all wearing hats, with a few women in foreground. Lots of flags, bunting and paper lanterns. c.1910. Same picture as LAN.PH.1586.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and who continued to live in the house until his death in 1966.
