Summary
Postcard showing a market square, the market building with arches in the castellated walls on the left, old buildings with tiled roofs on the right and centre, the tower of Somerton church behind. A horse with cart stands beside pollarded tree in square and a bicycle is propped up against centre of market building. Contained in a dark blue cloth bound photograph album, textured to look like leather, the spine and corners in olive brown with gold tooling. c.1900
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953. Somerton village is close to Kingweston where the Dickinson family lived.
