A Victorian olive wood blotter in book form with leather spine. Painting of swallow and violets on front and a blue damask lining to inside back cover. 'Cannes' on the reverse. France.
Provenance
Unknown. Possibly a gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The family travelled a lot to Europe.
