Summary

A walnut high-back open armchair, English, circa 1680. The back, armrests and seat upholstered in red and gold mercerised cotton brocade, the scroll arms raised on spiral supports continuing down to block and spiral legs joined by a later foliate and cartouche carved front stretcher, with further cross-stretcher behind and front paw feet.
