Summary

Cover for a Japanese (Arita) porcelain jar of inverted baluster form, decorated in the Imari palette with three shaped panels of flowers and butterflies, flowers and birds and flowers and fence all on a floral foliated ground. c.1720 The finial in form of shi-shi on rockwork is broken off the cover.
