Summary
Unframed mounted pen and ink drawing of a plan of a ground floor building. Some dimensions for rooms provided with a key/legend referring to letters marked on the drawing and a manuscript legend and notes. Scale rule with 0-100ft.No indications of any existing structures but express reference to a possible basement. On laid paper with a watermark 'IV' underneath what is termed the 'vestable room'. Probably mounted for the Exhibition at the Sir John Soane Museum in 1998. Not signed or dated but handwriting considered to be that of William Kent (d.1748) and possibly drawn c.1743.
Provenance
Possibly acquired by John Parker (1703-1768) or even his father George(d.1743) by descent to Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962) and formed part of the Endowment to NT.
