Summary
Rectangular tripartite coved ceiling divided by decorated bands. A large oval in each compartment, each containing a lozenge and a roundel. Four medallions in the corners of the central compartment. Two roundels in the cove which is decorated with sphnx; griffons and chimera with floral swirls.
Provenance
Designed by The Adam brothers for this room in 1768 for John Parker (1735-1788) later Lord Boringdon.By descent to Edmund Robert Parker (1877-1951) 4th Earl of Morley.Accepted in part payment of death duties by HM Treasury and transferrred to NT in 1957.
