Summary
Chimneypiece. Fire opening with bold relief egg and dart carved crowned surround and inground panels of pink/red veined marble. Two jambs of white marble with leaf motif carved corbels atop carved hanging acanthus drops. The frieze comprising two white marble corner blocks carved with raised lidded urns. Two panels of matching reddish veined marble each side of a central white marble tablet carved in bold relief with a chained lion a cupid on it's back, believed to represent 'love Conquers all'. Two tier inverted corniced break front shelf.
