Summary
(Folio 18, recto, upper print) Women washing clothes by the water - one kneels holding a garment in her hands the other stands holding a basket full of clothes. She is looking at a man who lies on the ground with his back to the viewer and two cows look on.
Provenance
At Saltram by 1771 and thence by descent to Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley and given to NT as part of the Endowment following transfer in 1957.
