Summary
(Folio 17, recto, upper print) Two women are at a river edge - one kneels and washes clothes while the other spins yarn. There are cattle drinking from the water and sheep sit on the ground. Farm buildings and trees are in the distance.
Provenance
At Saltram by 1771 and thence by descent to Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley and given to NT as part of the Endowment following transfer in 1957.
