Pencil drawing on tracing paper (figure drawing); a young couple holding hands standing in an open-air landscape, he, on the left, seen almost in profile, looking to the right, she three-quarters profile, both dressed in the simple fashion of the first 19th century, he with long hair and a hat, she in a simple dress and a skirt, with two plaits.

At Saltram by 1962 and given to NT as part of the endowment by Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley.
