Summary
Pencil drawing on tracing paper (figure drawing); on the left a walking woman in a long soft dress decorated with smaller ornamental forms, in profile going to the right, holding up some flowers with her right hand and a stick on her left shoulder; centre of the sheet; a standing young man, front view, turning the head to look to her side, holding a lance ond some flowers in his left hand while greeting the girl with his right, standing in some kind of small open cage carried by two snakes; from the right side in lower part of the sheet an unfinished figure of a woman in profile reaching a bg round plate in the direction of the snake on the right side.
Provenance
At Saltram by 1962 and given to NT as part of the endowment by Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley.
